Now that the intensive physical therapy for recovering from my TPLO surgery is over, Mommy was worried I would get bored, so she got me a new job…as a Therapy Dog!

My first gig is volunteering in a Read to Rover program at a nearby elementary school.
Mommy and I go into the elementary school’s “reading room” and settle down with two other R2R teams in other corners. I lie on a blanket on the floor, and a second-grader comes in with a book and settles into a little folding backrest-chair also on the blanket.

The kid reads aloud to me for about fifteen minutes. At the end of that kid’s time, another kid comes in and does the same, until we’ve gone through 4 kids over the course of 1 hour.

I enjoy getting the pets from the kids when they first come in, and sometimes they take a little break in their reading to talk to me and pet me some more.
But the best part is sniffing at all the backpacks with lunch boxes inside hanging on the walls of the corridor leading to the reading room! Tuna and peanut butter and bologna and…
